Pictures And Hashtags Of Bone-Thin Bodies

I know things like this are out of people like mine’s control, but it still upsets me to see people doing these kind of things. I'm talking about glorifying their eating disorders. I'm not saying the problems itself isn't important (I've dealt with one myself) I'm saying the way they go about it isn't very appropriate. When you make it seem like having the disorder is OK, it makes the problem worse and even risking peoples' lives. If you believe you are that bad but have the courage to speak out about it, do that with professionals and not with random strangers. Some may help, but more often than not it makes the matter worse.

Social Media Majors

With how big social media has become over the years, it surprises me that there hasn’t been more majors than already being in place that are incorporating, if not specific to, ideas and strategies regarding the platforms. I feel like this would greatly increase the numbers of college applicants from previous years. That being said, there will be more high school students wanting to go to college than to start working right after their senior year. That means more students will strive for high grades and school in general than being distracted by other things that can get them into trouble (me being an example). Not only is it a motive to go to college and get a degree, they can also do something that a lot of people like.

Americans are turning to social media for news

One major thing I liked about this article is the statistics they used, which I'm sure a lot of people can appreciate. It does make me think, quite a bit. Most people who use Facebook use that site alone to receive news while others like Instagram will use more than one. I personally think it would be so much better to look at news from different sites than just one. That way, you can tell which facts are true and which ones aren't facts at all. Then again, it's all thanks to social media that news gets spread faster than on the news channels.

Afghanistan Blocks Social Media Services

I don’t know what to say about this one, I agree with what Sopko is saying. People deserve to know what they’re paying for. What does come to mind when reading this is what do the social media companies think of this? I'm both a little surprised and a little not that they are not to be found on this article. From the previous article that I read, those companies are extremely cooperative so it's no wonder they have nothing to say, that's the part I'm not surprised with. What I am surprised with is that they haven't said anything at all. I guess it's up to the companies if they want to get involved or not.
