For me, the article from The Hill makes me think and want to argue with the author about their opinions on regulating social media. It talks about how the platforms should be regulated and monitored like news websites and regular medias are. The problem with that is that social media is used by so many people around the world, so would it even be possible to regulate something so widely used? That’s like asking a country to control their food intake for their population. You can’t do that, you can’t tell people to do something that they think they can’t live a day without. I don’t think it’s necessarily the company’s fault with the way their platforms are being used, it is the people using them. As hard as you will try, sometimes you just can’t change the way a person speaks or acts. Looks like social media platforms have a long road ahead of them.
