New York Times Tightens Social Media Policies

I can understand a news company’s concern about their reporters’ presence on social media, but I don’t think they should be more strict on their policies than they already are. Editing and reviewing their posts is necessary, in my opinion, to make sure the employees don’t cross any lines. That should be it though. How can they get more strict than that? What if the messages that would have been posted had something relatable to a lot of people? There goes 100+ followers for your company. As much as Myself and others don’t want it to happen, companies will eventually deny employees certain ideas.
